Top Islamic Website Hackers

Islamic hackers seem to constantly be attacking websites. They attack seemingly random websites from around the world. It’s pretty clear that they’re trying to spread a political message. According to Islamic website forums (sorry can’t give the source…take my word for it) some of the top islamic website hackers are:

cyb3rking
Islamic Ghosts (actually a group)
Ghost of Iraq

Do a quick google search of each ones name and you’ll come up with hundreds of entries of hacked websites that have been hacked by them. You’ll see political messages on most of them, too. Here’s cyb3rking’s blog: http://cyb3rking.blogspot.com/. He claims he’s hacked some pretty big name websites, and according to the islamic forums his number of websites hacked are about 10,000. COuld be true..these days automated tools can pretty much completely do all the work. Not only will they hack the website, they’ll find websites that are vulnerable to hack. There’s all kinds of SQL injection tools, such as SQL Ninja or SQID that’ll find hundreds of vulnerable websites if you just let it run for long enough.

Chinese Steal the Internet*

A recent report by Northrop Grumman indicated that the Chinese are expanding their already awesome cyber-espionage capabilities. A report on the report can be found here: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB125616872684400273.html. The actual report can be found here: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=2&ved=0CAoQFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.uscc.gov%2Fresearchpapers%2F2009%2FNorthropGrumman_PRC_Cyber_Paper_FINAL_Approved%2520Report_16Oct2009.pdf&ei=cbkrS5b8LcHTlAfOuIGfBw&usg=AFQjCNFwCDw-Eacr8YwcK58Du-W102TB6g&sig2=FyhlHQ2SJUHlSAfP_-i3wg

The report basically talks about the capabilities of the Chinese. They have amazing cyber-espionage operations, and it details some particular ones that are very advanced and methodical. Their intelligence collection is way beyond anything we could start to defend against, and I would say they’re probably going to increase their collection capabilities soon. If we don’t do something to stop them, pretty soon our top secret stuff is going to be practically open-source to them.

*Wouldn’t put it past them at least…

Russia US engage in cyber-warfare talks

Russia has been pushing for talks with the US on the limitation of cyber-warfare. When I first heard about this it didn’t make much sense to me, Russia is the one that has used cyber-warfare to their advantage, so why would they want to limit themselves?

Then I remembered, hey it’s Russia. The same nation that produced Ivan Drago to take out Rocky Balboa in Rocky V to prove a point to the Americans. Here’s 2 things I think Russia is trying to do with these cyber-warfare limitation talks:

1) By engaging in talks about limiting cyber-warfare they’re basically conducting a roundabout security operation. They probably don’t see any new use for cyber-attacks in the near future, and they want to make sure that they aren’t going to get attacked soon. Particularly, they probably see the US as a new threat to them in the cyber-world, and they want to make sure we aren’t considering doing something to them. Maybe they even have intelligence suggesting the US might conduct such an attack in the near future.

2) By engaging in talks they are basically claiming themselves to be a major cyber-power. If they weren’t, why would they and the US need to agree to terms on cyber-warfare limitation? In other words, they’re saying, we got some big guns, we know you have some big guns, let’s agree to not use them. This gives the message to the international community that there’s something to fear.

I can haXx ur systemz American swine
